Faith Ringgold — The Storyteller Who Painted History

Faith Ringgold was an amazing artist, writer, and activist who used her creativity to tell stories about real life, history, and fairness.

She created story quilts—quilts with pictures and words that told powerful stories about Black families, strong women, dreams, and freedom. These quilts are displayed in major museums like MoMA, The Met, and the Smithsonian.

Faith also wrote children’s books, including Tar Beach, which many kids read in school. She won many awards for her work and spoke up when women and Black artists were treated unfairly.

“If one can, anyone can—all you gotta do is try.” – Faith Ringgold
